Books on Beechwood is an independent, locally owned, bookstore that’s been serving the Beechwood area since 1994. Located where mutliple neighbourhoods meet, the store’s become something of a community hub – not only a place to buy books, but a comfortable space to meet up with friends, catch up on neighbourhood news, and spend quiet, reflective moments wandering the stacks.
With a wide range of books in stock – from literary fiction to biography, history to mystery, children’s picture books to YA novels – there’s always something new and exciting to discover on our shelves. If you don’t happen to see what you’re looking for in the store, our friendly staff members are always happy to search out the particular title you’re looking for and order it in for you. In addition to books, we also sell greeting cards, stationery, gift wrap, CDs, magazines, puzzles, games, notebooks, and countless other gift items.
Throughout the year, we host book events and signings here in the store as well as our special Titles@Table40 dinner series with our friends and neighbours at Fraser Cafe. The store also boasts a long-standing book club which meets once a month from September through May, taking a break halfway through in the often hectic month of December. New members are always welcome!
Our staff of friendly book lovers are always happy to help you as you browse the shop, whether you’re on the hunt for something new to read, need help finding the perfect gift for that certain someone on your shopping list, or can’t quite remember the title of that specific book you meant to buy. “The cover was blue” is never a bad start!
