Ocean Village was opened by the Hellesen family in 1976, and didn’t change much for the next thirty-odd years. In 2009, the resort was acquired by a new ownership group headed by Robert Brown, a Tofino homeowner with twenty years experience in sustainable property development. Since the change of ownership, we have renovated all the cabins and made a bunch of upgrades aimed at reducing our impact on the planet. It’s an ongoing process, and we remain excited about making Ocean Village more sustainable while improving upon the things that make it so special.
